Music is a vital part of our worship of God. We are blessed to have so much musical talent within our congregation. Come and enjoy these musical gifts from the pews, or join your voices or instrumental gifts in leading music at Onalaska UMC!

Classic Service
The classic service (Sundays, 8:30 am) music is accompanied by piano or organ year-round. At this service we sing many of the traditional or classic hymns of the Christian tradition, with some newer music mixed in when appropriate. Dean Gunnarson – with the Chancel Choir – and Sandy Koster lead music for our classic service.
Praise Service
The praise team leads music for the Sunday praise service (Sundays, 11:00 am) year round. The team includes both our professional musicians and eager, gifted volunteers. The praise team practices on Sunday mornings between services starting at 9:45 am. Zoe de Boer leads the praise team on vocals and keyboard. Volunteers add vocals, guitar, bass, and occasionally drums! We are always looking for more musicians and more instruments!
Chancel Choir
The chancel choir consists of 15 to 25 vocalists who sing at the early classic worship service. Traditional and contemporary anthems in a SATB setting are rehearsed on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Dean Gunnarson directs, with accompanist Sandra Koster. New members are always welcome.
Special Music
If you have a musical gift, we would welcome your willingness to share special music for either the traditional or praise worship services. Please contact the church office if you would like to offer special music. We especially love to hear from guest musicians during the summer months of June, July and August, when our chancel choir and bell choir are on vacation.
